Ain't nobody got time for that

There are organizations in Danbury, CT ready to serve people in desperate straits.  People suffering homelessness, hunger and domestic violence are met by ministries and ministers, to the credit of this community. But what about ordinary people struggling to live purpose-filled, spirit-filled lives: people who have a roof over their heads, but who need help with fuel and food; divorced parents whose kids need dental care but who have no dental insurance; senior citizens who become increasingly lonely as their social circles shrink? There are resources available to help us ordinary people bridge the gap between surviving and thriving. But it can take a lot of time and energy to find right sort of help when you need it. Ain't nobody got time for that.

As an example, think about a visually impaired young adult.  A person with severely low vision has five basic challenges to living well:  transportation, reading print, using a computer, socializing and finding employment.  Seventy percent of people who are legally blind are unemployed because these challenges go unmet.  The resources exist to address each of these issues.  But, it can take a lot of time and energy to find right sort of help when you need it. Ain't nobody got time for that.

We plan keep the time and effort side of finding help to a minimum by providing Guides to Danbury Community Resources for the kinds of ordinary problems that hold ordinary people down.
